Governance through goals in action: How multi-stakeholder partnerships translate and connect the SDGs

Earlier this year, PhD Candidate Cornelia Fast and Dr. Oscar Widerberg published their research article as part of the Transform2030 research project, in a special issue on the Sustainable Development Goals in the Earth System Governance Journal.

💡 The article examines how multi-stakeholder partnerships translate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into action. Focusing on (1) how specific the goals are, and (2) whether they have potential to connect SDG13 on Climate Action with other SDGs, the article:
💠 Shows how multi-stakeholder partnerships' goals can be conceptualized as a possible response to the SDGs.
💠 Presents a novel analytical framework that helps explore how multi-stakeholder partnerships translate and connect the SDGs.
💠 Builds and explores a new dataset of 414 goals, concluding that vague goals with low potential to connect SDGs, institutions, and actors are the most common.
